The Heretic Voice

Theater Company

Mission Statement

The Heretic Voice Theater Company is dedicated to the deep, rigorous excavation of classical texts. Through a long-form rehearsal process, which includes the essential incorporation of “negative space”—the time in between rehearsals from which some of our greatest discoveries originate— we co-create theater that honors the source material while inviting bold, innovative performances. We are committed to holding a brave space in which each actor is a unique collaborator, bringing their individual brilliance to the creation of something greater than the sum of its parts. Our mission is to create theater that resonates with authenticity and joy, where every voice contributes to the collective experience of transcendence between the audience, the artists, and the Work.

Co-artistic Director

Lynwood Bradley was a full-fledged producer of community theatre in the rural community of Sautee, Georgia at the age of 14. His work with children and young people includes serving as a counselor and educator for Brenau University’s Firespark Arts Camp and serving as manager of White County MainStage Children’s Theater Camp. After receiving a full-ride scholarship and earning a BA from Georga's prestigious Brenau University he moved Los Angeles in 2010 where he starred in productions at the Pasadena Playhouse and the Theatre @ Boston Court. That year he was nominated for a LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Best Actor for his role in The Twentieth-Century Way and won LA Weekly Award for Best Performance in a two-person ensemble. In New York he had his Off Broadway debut in Man and Superman at The Irish Repertory Theatre and in a reprisal of The Twentieth-Century Way at Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, for which he also served as a producer. Returning to LA he won great acclaim for his performances as Conrad Arkadina in Stupid Fucking Bird at The Theatre @ Boston Court, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at A Noise Within. He returned to the role of producer and director with The LGBT Center's highly acclaimed production of Sam Shepard's Fool For Love as well as Cowboy Mouth with his own theatre company, Such A Death, for which he also composed the music and melody to Sam Shepard and Patti Smith’s lyrics. His credits in TV and film include ABC’s Pretty Little Liars, MTV’s One Bad Choice, Ridley Scott’s production of Killing Lincoln, and HBO’s The Normal Heart directed by Ryan Murphy.
